This project was an installation case for new lighting at one of the most challenging golf courses in Korea, the EvenDale Golf & Resort located in Miwon-myeon, Cheongwon, Chungbuk.

The golf courses were previously operated in two shifts and only the 7th, 8th and 9th holes on the “Even” and “Dale” courses had 1.5kW metal halide lighting installed for lighting, but when the membership system became open to the public, the golf course decided to have rounds of golf available at night in a third shift it decided to use LED lighting for the remaining 12 holes.

There was another company to compete with to win this order, but in the end the SUFA-M 1.2kW product was selected, and GigaTera sports lighting product became the first to be installed at a domestic golf course.

* Evendale Golf & Resort : The EvenDale Golf & Resort opened in 2010 with a membership system, and was reported in Golf Magazine and YTN as “one of the top 10 new courses in Korea,” and became known as a top golf course nationwide. Since 2016 when the membership system was converted to a public system the two-course had 18 holes in total, including the 9-hole Even “out course” and the 9-hole Dale “in course.” Also, the installation of GigaTera lighting in this case meant that rounds of golf offered in two shifts could not be offered in three (night rounds). “EvenDale” is a compound word of “Even”, which means “peaceful” and “Dale” which means “valley” and together it means “a peaceful valley with a wooded forest.”
