Presiditential Flight, originally known as “Royal Flight” was first established in 1975 under the private department of H. H. the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This was renamed to “Amiri Flight” and was later changed to “Presidential Flight” from 16 February, 2009.

The construction of the new hangar was to acommodate two A380 aircrafts, as the existing hangar did not allow such a provision.
The project called for a new installation of LED High Bay Lights along with external lights that include Apron Lighting, Façade Lighting and Street Lighting for the new hangar. This project was a complete turnkey solution inclusive of Lighting Consultancy, Supply, Installation as well as Commissioning for the green initiative driven by Presidential Flight.

To acheive this green initiative, GigaTera focussed on a solution that minimed energy consumption, number of luminires and providing outstanding light quality in the form of professional lighting consultancy that would not only focus on the importance of such a hangar, but also the effect it would have on the environment, as required by Estidama.

With the prime importance of the hangar, the team at Presidential Flight opted to go for a solution that was proven for quality, reliability and performance.
